to sum up the issues after a few minutes playing around:
*how can i add audio files to the mediaplayer? there is no way to

filebrowser can't be that hard, no?)

I finally tried qtextended 4.4.2 upgrading via the updater tool on the
qtextended website.
I found some very annoying bugs, never reported on those lists (AFAIK):
*Some SMSs in trash, Select All and then Delete Messages doesn't work as
expected, it doesn't delete anything;
*When deleting one SMS

Is this saying that flashing 4.4.2 to rootfs after 4.4.1 was on that place the

Because now FreeRunner is not for non-developers. And people with only
little skill of developing (like me) IMHO should read wiki and
maillist BEFORE they buy FR (and should know about that basics like

I'm not sure I agree. In QT Extended 4.4.1 the phone would reliably wake
up from suspend on a phone call or SMS

You're right. These two bugs are very ugly. It's sad that one annoying bug
gets solved (echo issue) but another one takes its place (this new suspend
problem) ...
I'll have to wait for the next update - with this kind of bugs the phone is
nearly unusable for daily use!

Excellent feedback...I'll just add a couple of things to the list of issues:
- There are some issues with the suspend/resume. I tried calling my phone
after it suspended and it didn't wake up.
- It's a minor issue but when the phone starts up, the battery indicator
shows it's charging (it wasn't)
OK,
here is a quick feedback, will do more tests and investigation later:
- package for download contains kernel and root fs - super, as this
prevents confusion what kernel to use
- no echo on calls (great!!!)
- 100% working headset/handset switching (great!!)
- no more first menu item 1/2 hiding
