I reboot here after applying the fix seems to have fixed this for me. I
rebooted and things came back up fine. I was able to get out of my LAN
to the internet and my dyndns address was the correct IP.
I'll reboot again before I leave today, just for grins.
So far so good though.

I assume that due to the modifications we made
together on my box it is better to start over with a
fresh install.
