I've got an odd situation where I have pfSense set up with a Captive Portal and transparent Squid, pulling from an upstream (commercial) proxy. If I configure Squid with the upstream proxy, it pulls from it for a few seconds (high load network), then just stops referring to the upstream, with no log indication.
>From fiddling with the configuration manually, it seems the issue is that my upstream proxy cannot communicate via ICP, and putting the suggested '7' there is not sufficient. Rather, I have to specify '0 no-query' in squid.conf to enable continued usage beyond the initial ICP query window. I can provide a patch to fix this, but thought I'd run it by the support community at large - surely Seth & Fernando both monitor this list as well.
