I love pidgin however at times I like to set my status per IM account.
so I want to set AIM as busy while being available on Yahoo. Is it possible
to put this feature in?

Look at the bottom of your Buddy List, you should have all accounts
listed and can set them separately. You might need to expand the window
if you don't see them all.

Unless this has changed in recent versions, there isn't a drop down for
each account separately.
There is a plugin called MyStatusBox in the Pidgin Plugin pack which
will allow you to set each account separately and even have a separate
drop down for each account.
