I have a question about the spell checking system.
The language switcher in the contextual menu shows the turkish language,
which is not installed in my system.
Where does pidgin look for installed dictionaries?
I use Gnome on a Debian amd64 and Pidgin 2.7.0
Thanks!

Hey There,
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 along with Pidgin Instant Messenger v 2.6.6. I
have been to the website to see if there is a newer version of the linux
release (as I have just installed Pidgin onto a windows machine for my
partner and noticed the release was a later version).
Now, I am a

Pidgin 2.7.1, Windows.
When I send a message to my buddy (he is using QIP), he receives it with
a tags like "font size = "3" /font", but only if I use custom font.
Switching back to theme font removes this issue.

Why is this program constantly being upgraded?
I truly regret sharing it because it's CONSTANTLY revision versions.
Does anyone have any ideas when it will remain stable for 6 months or
more?
It's truly a hassle, and I'm considering using something more stable. Any
ideas?
Thanks,
JC

If you really wanted an answer to this seems like you should take a
look at the changelog. There is a link off of the pidgin home page

All,
Thanks, for your comments; I think.
I've suggested that 150 people (that do not have administrative
privileges) use this application; an application that has had something
close to 8 version changes in a few months.
I don't consider that SO MANY revisions "active development"...
There is no russian language in 2.7.1 version, only ukrain and another one.
Why so? And i can't read status contacts of enother protocols. Please solve
this problems.

The bottom line is that Pidgin will quite possibly *never* go six
