I woke up this morning to discover I can not log into Pidgin using my main AIM
account. I can log into Pidgin with every other account I have linked, of which
include Yahoo and a few other AIM accounts. Just not the one. Every time I try
it gives me this message: Your account is currently
This also happened to me yesterday. This is something that AOL seems to
be doing. My account has been suspended by them. It seems they're
clearing their database of old accounts that were at one point tied to
an actual paying AOL account.

I can still log into the account using other providers though. Is this just a
glitch or does it mean something else is happening? Any suggestions on what to

I managed to lock my account out yesterday due to AOL's awesome security
features...but my suggestion is just to login to the account via
http://aim.com and then give it another shot. You'll likely see the
message I'm referring to if you do so.

I can sign in perfectly, using aim.com and I don't see any message there. Only
when I try using that account on Pidgin. However, found online someone said to
try deleting the account from my Pidgin and then readding it. Apparently that
worked. No clue why. Thanks SO much for the help!
