It looks like you've still got an old copy of the Facebook plugin from
2015, you'll want to remove all old copies of the dll and upgrade to the
latest version of the plugin.

Are you able to link us to your source code to see what's going on? Also,
are you able to get a full libpurple debug log out of your client? It
should tell you what's happening under the hood.

That particular NSS Handshake failed -5938 error means that the SSL library
in Pidgin couldn't negotiate a matching SSL cipher with your server.

I am not able to log into my Facebook messaging thru Pidgin. I keep getting
this error message,Null value for $.viewer.message_threads.sync_sequence_id. I
have tried to reenter my Facebook password A few times, no luck at all.My
desktop OS is Windows 7 SP-1 32 bit.___
I have been using pidgin for a while now at work. Last thurday all was
working fine. Friday the users at this location can not connect. Error says
SSL handshake failed. Other locations connect fine still.
