If you still have the old laptop, close pidgin, and try to copy the
~/.purple/accounts.xml file to the new one (alternatively whole ~/.purple dir).

I used to log on automatically on my old laptop, but I could not log on on my
new laptop with pidgin.
my user name is sypro1...@jabber.at and I do not remember which email I used.
My email was ayok...@yahoo.com and it has been blocked by yahoo couple of month
ago.
