I would also note that we don't provide MSI based deployment out of the box
(although it theoretically is relatively simple to create a MSI wrapper for
our .exe based installer).

I think that's true there is no XEP for XMPP broadcasting, but server
implementations usually provide this feature, for example Prosody:

Although it should be noted that, except for the Bounjour protocol, in a
single broadcast areas, Pidgin isn't a complete IM system. You also
need a server.
