Actually, I just read a bit further up in
http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0176.html#protocol-flow and it says
the first initiate request may contain zero or more candidates. So
maybe this is not the issue after all. There is supposed to be some
STUN server negotiation

I just had a chat with a young linux enthusiast trying videochat and it failed
