cannot seem to connect to AIM through pidgin, and I didn't know if this was
on your end or on theirs. I am able to connect to AIM through gchat, but
AIM has been largely inaccessible for the last 24 hours or so.

Go to Accounts, Manage Accounts, select account, Advanced, uncheck Use
clientLogin.
