retake my experimentation with the camera only to find that the camera no
longer worked.
I ordered the camera without SATA port, and i didn't have the external port

Maybe this has to do with the filesystem in the HDD?
I have the same problem with the same camera and a solid state HDD, simply
the camera doesn't detect the HDD? some people told me that probably the
problem was that I was using a EXT4 file-system while the camera needs an
EXT2 file-system, i

Biel,
In case of me making some mistake and screwing it up, how could I recover
it? Would I have to send my camera off?
It's unlikely something could go wrong here. Just remember your settings.
In any case you

indeed, this is way too advanced for me. I don't understand a thing :)
The thing with wget, is that it forces you to download files when you just
want to change a value in the camera, what would be cool would be to have a
process to change the camera values without the need to download anything,
in shell scripts.

well the simple wget call to change EXPOS will last between 1 second and 1
second and a half

I'm very sorry but it seems it was my bad idea to move this discussion

Andrey, about only having 150 gray levels, why does the camera only output
150 gray levels when the image that comes out of the sensor has 4096 output
values? maybe this is because this amount of sampled information contain a
lot of noise?
and, if 8 bits allow 256 shades of gray, does that meant

cool, now I see the effect, now let me make a couple of questions,
1 - why the effect varies in the 1/4th decrement and the 1/8th decrement?
in 1/1th (no binning) there's no light increment (that's logical)
in 1/2th and 1/3th there is one light increment (ok)
in 1/4th there is
Oleg, I'm sorry but I seem not to be getting anywhere, What I meant with
all this is to:
1 - check out how much light do I gain from pixel binning (by suming) vs
pixel binning (by averaging)
2 - get a way to control this difference between pixel binning methods
once I get connected to the
