I have started to use the RSS feature in mailnews (or mailnewsrss as it might be
called).

A few things I noticed:

1. Javascript. Fortunately (I think) it is possible to display rss feed pages in
HTML, even when mailnews is set to display in plain text. But when you do that,
Javascript is enabled (if you have it enabled for the browser). Although this is
probably what I want, I think it should be possible to turn it off separately
from the browser setting.

2. The time stamp for each item appears to be GMT. Why is this?

3. One of my feeds is a forum (the Microsoft MSDN forums in fact). Each
individual forum can be chosen to be an RSS folder, and each thread shows up as
a message. Clicking the message subject brings up the whole thread as a web
page. The MSDN forums have a feature in which, by the magic of Ajax, clicking
the Reply button opens an in-place editor, and this editor actually implements
the Mozilla spell-checker. This even works inside the RSS message window --
spelling mistakes have the red dotted line under them. But, unfortunately, if
you right-click the spelling error, you do not get the spell-checker context
menu, but rather the usual mail-news-rss context menu that you get on the rest
of the screen. This seems to me a bug. The spell checker context menu works in
mailnews composition, and in works in (most) text entry browser fields, so it
should work here also.
