Error says Pay pal has a bad certificate . Paypal support
directed me
to Verisign to update the Certificate .. Suposivly did it But
Still
ger
lots od Certificate Errors.

Pay pal support Now says MY certificate is no good
I look in certificates and I HAVE NONE .

I am using seamonkey 2.03 win 7 pro Pay pal support says to go to
microsoft web site and get a New ROOT certificate . My
Question is
How?
When I use control panel to check For updates It only tells me
that
I am
all updated.. Win 7 Has never taken me to a Microsoft Update site
Like
XP did .

www.paypalobjects.com:443 uses an invalid Security Certificate

Certificate Is not trusted because the issuer is not Trusted

( error code:sec_error_untrustered issuer)

akamai suborinate Ca 3

akamai technologies inc

The Certificat expires 12 /31/ 2010

This sounds very much the same as the problem that I had with the
Federal Trade Commission site. See the thread "Bad Certificate"
started
yesterday in this same newsgroup.

I have submitted bug report #548380 to provide a better user
interface
for dealing with this situation. See
<https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=548380>. At the
end of
that report, I describe my workaround, which requires a separate
profile.

I now know it is a seamonkey problem.. IE access the site with no
problems

Seamonkey 1.1.18 Gives the same error Jusy ONE time and then
lets me
into the site.

Paypal support sent me the link to Verisign to renewel the
Certificate .
I ran the install Then went to preference / Security/certificates

Verisign has nothing to do with the site. Akamai technology is the
certificate issuer for Paypal Per Seamonkey .

I use win 7 pro , my wife uses winxp...
I just tried paypal with her computer and seamonkey 2.03..... NO
CERTIFICATE errors.

I concede that the problem lies in my computer and Not a pay pal com
problem

Forgot to mention. paypal page comes up in TEXT form ( no Graphics)
The newest version of Firefox gives the same errors

Are you uptodate on Win xp updates? I thought I saw one regarding
certificate validation or some such (those are just a blurrrrr).

As stated I am using Windows 7 Pro

sorry - confuzed by your spouse's win xp!

Did you go the new profile route?

Great suggestion
Will try it
I make a new profile and Paypal site Works. No errors

Now any suggestion on What I change or Delete in order to Keep my
profile? ?

Created a new profile
Renamed cert8.db in the bad profile to cert8.db1

Copied cert8.db from the Test profile to the Bad profile.

Now the Bad profile is a Good profile
