My understanding (which may be flawed) is basically: 1. SeaMonkey 2.46 checks a server at a particular address to find the latest version and therefore whether an update is available 2. That server has been changed and, for whatever reason, now has a different address 3. SeaMonkey <= 2.46 does n

2 bad crashers in mail were fixed and some other things too. Also latest mozilla levels for Firefox 51 and l10n. If you didn't run into problems you can continue using it but I would upgrade. Soon with the current infrastructure might mean anything between 3 weeks and a few months :) FRG David

Switch of distribution servers. Could have probably made to work with much more time invested but 2.48 is already late so it was just decided to release it as is. The next release will be 2.49.1 which should be up to date with the latest Fx 52 ESR release. And updated from 2.48 should work again
