Hi there,

first of all, must say thank for all the goods articles that day after day are
posted in this forum. I must also say, that i`m new in the field of the 3D
Audio… well, actually not so new. I’m Sound Engineer and a couple of years ago
i finished a Master calls Sound Studies… There i get involved for first time
with the concept of 3D Sound. I could realize some projects with the 3D Audio
technique IOSONO and also some soundscape recordings, wich were decoded and
reproduced using an Ambisonic Patch for Max/Msp. So, since a while i’m working
in small projects, nevertheless, it has been very difficult to get more involve
in this area, in somehow because i realized that it would be complicated if you
don’t have either the money to buy the equipment or the support from any
Institute or University.

Recently i could 3D print a prototype of a 4 Channel Head Set, which it would
be like a Dummy Head but without the head and with four ears :). The idea is to
use it as a 360° soundscape recorded… I have four omnidirectional Mics AKG C
417 connected to the Zoom H6. I made a Max patch wich allows me to decode the
recorded sound into B-Format, having the possibility to reproduce the sound up
to 16 Channels.

Considering that each capsule is at the ears position, what should i
considerate during the sound capture and the decode, to avoid phase and
cancelation problems?

 I’m getting confuse…
I would appreciate any info.

Ed
