Hi, I installed Debian Etch on a Dell XPS M1710. This machine is unknown to the version of s2ram that ships with Debian Etch. However, the machine resumes OK after s2ram -f except for the console. All virtual terminals are black. Logging in blind works fine, so it is purely a video problem. After I changed the default debian boot line in /boot/grub/menu.lst to include vga=794 the console also resumed OK. I tried vga=791 as well and that worked too.
Running s2ram --identify gives: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~$ sudo /usr/sbin/s2ram --identify This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "Dell Inc." sys_product = "MXG061 " sys_version = "" bios_version = "A06" See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details. If you report a problem, please include the complete output above. [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~$ Thanks for your work on s2ram I really use it a lot because an XPS laptop sucks the battery dry in no time (2.5 hrs). -- Harry Kuiper [EMAIL PROTECTED] Haarlem, The Netherlands ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
