Your best bet is to take an old wick, or spare and try this:
1. soak the wick with a small mixture enough to saturate - 90% kerosene 10%
veg oil ... see how that burns.
2. same thing - 80% to 20 % - see how that burns.
3. then 70%, 30% , you get the idea- keep going until it won't burn
Disclaimer: Don't set yourself or anything else on fire. Don't do this if
you are not mechanically inclined. Don't do this in your house or camper.
