I'd skip medicine too. The school debt is staggering and they work you to death for not that much money. When you calculate the number of hours you work, the amount needed to pay of your loans it's not such a great living. My sister is a doctor and she's sure not getting rich, or even close.

Actually driving a 1994 Pug 405 I can answer a bit: Hoses etc should be OK. The Injector pump will eventually fail if it has not been reconditioned already. I doubt the pump would be original, because the low sulphur fuels also kills seals. Even if the pump leaks it will give plenty of warning.
