One thing that's important to me about these stories is that we see too much outright dismissal of consideration of using biomass as fuel, because some folks are offended by the idea that we spent millenia trying to grow enough food to feed ourselves, and then we think we are in a rush now to go out and use that food not only for feed but to fix all of our energy shortfalls. But I think there are better ways to look at the arguments for better biomass use, and one of them certainly has to be that "waste", which would otherwise have been thrown away or processed inefficiently, can be used to great advantage and economic profit. Observe how the "commoditization" of Hydrogen allows for a tangible calculation as to the benefit to be had of making the effort to follow up on this research and implement the technology. Also, I was glad to see that Methane gas can be recovered and used from the process.
