There is no need to unsubscribe--just go to the "My Groups" section
and switch the little pulldown menu to "no mail--web only" and click
the "save changes" icon. No more emails but can still read messages
when logging onto egroups.

i know how it goes, a general interest can keep a guy subscribed for 50 years,

i suppose that a specific one does clog the mail server with stuff you're not
