For some odd reason in the US they are sold by companies that charge a lot of money! I'm sure you can find a design to make one yourself. The commercial version is VERY goodlooking, but not particularly portable and cold of course- for a few thousand dollars I'd build something more insulated.

Where I worked in Beijing we had a large yurt that was used as a meeting and conference room. It was high-tech, insulated, and with electric heating and air-conditioning. Other than the shape I don't think it had much similarity to the yurts of Mongolia. The irony of it was that it was manufact
