I have been lurking here for a while. I have been toying with the
idea of an SVO conversion of my 81 mercedes 240D.
I contacted elsbett. Appearently they have rejetted fuel injectors
for my engine that are designed for the higher viscosity SVO.
Anybody have any experience with these

For your 81 Mercedes, you do not really need to do much - a basic
two-tank system will work fine. Our G3 SVO-Max kit offers superior
on-vehicle filtration.
