Perhaps, but it seems to me that the only casualty of this battle will be consumers. So what happens if he succeeds? The co-op is forced to buy his electricity at retail; they'll just jack up the price of electricity paid by everyone else to make up the loss. The representative from the co-op said as much. So what you end up with is one man profiting at the expense of his neighbors. If he really wanted to be revolutionary, he would install storage capacity, disconnect himself from the grid and offer his surplus electricity to his neighbors for free.
