Well, now I understand what went wrong.
The thing was that the example was made for Xalan
processor and Firefox obviously doesn't support this
extention.
Having said that I would like to ask if anybody 
has experience with Mozilla/Firefox and could give me
a tiny hint on how to call javascript from XSLT
templates.
