I've been using <use xlink:href="#bar" /> for some time with no problems, referencing an item (id="bar") defined in my local file's <defs> section. Tonight I tried to reference an item defined in an external document: <use xlink:href="foo.svg#bar" />. What I found is that Firefox and Opera rendered the object as intended, but Safari and Chrome just ignored the item. So, I wonder if there's something extra that I need to do to appease Safari and Chrome, or if these browsers just don't support that feature. —Ken Nellis
