Hi,

The SVG part should work anywhere, only the HTML wrapper talking to the
SVG won't work besides IE.

SVGs that use <image> are static and onmouseover won't work. You are
best to load the the SVG with getURL if you want the mouseover. You
will probably do that anyways because, according to how large your map
is, you will want to only load certain layers depending on zoom.

Subject: Re[2]: [svg-developers] Zoom / Viewbox

Hi Chris,
nice one, but just to be sure: This does only work with IE!?
Right?
Another question that occurred here in our project:
If I use an embedded SVG within my SVG (as in your example), is there
a possibility to work with JS-mouseovers and popups within the inner
SVG? (In your example: use mouseovers in the map?)
Somehow this does no longer work as soon as I include my svg in
another.

Ciao
Chris

CP> Here is a good example:

CP> To control only map do viewBox manipulation.

CP> I have an SVG file with two SVG sections each of which defines its
CP> own veiwbox - one represents an area that displays a map, the other
CP> an area for text etc.

CP> I was wondering... is it possible to limit the default zoom and pan
CP> behaviour of the SVG viewer to only one of these viewboxes?

CP> I would like to allow the user to zoom/pan on the map area (using
CP> the mouse etc.) and for only that area to be effected. But what is
CP> actually happening is the whole SVG screen gets zoomed or panned!

CP> I have seen examples where symbols are defined for magnifying
CP> glasses etc and then events/scripts used to control the required
CP> results, but i was really looking for something more basic.

CP> I am trying it as a stand alone SVG file for the moment.

CP> Any help / pointers appreciated.
