PocketSword deals quite nicely with cross-references that are for just a few
verses.
It displays the linked verse[s] with their text in the note pane that
appears at the foot of the screen.
It copes with multiple references to different passages too.

One other thing I'm informed of is that from next month (Feb 2016) all new
or updated apps submitted for the iTunes store must have full support for 64
bit hardware, otherwise Apple will not accept them.

something that the front-end provides, not the module. I think there is an
element whose purpose is to mark a location, index. Not sure if it is
