For those interested, I found solutions for both problems and create 2
tickets and submitted 2 patches. Hope they got accepted. Otherwise, I
hope I get another solution.

Continuing to investigate :
1/ note that I created my own module (as per tutorial) of sfGuardUser
under apps/backend/modules and added a config directory as well as a
generator.yml fle.
2/ In my new generator.yml file, I copied the content of the
generator.yml file that is under : plugins\sfDoctr
