I have never used such functionality outside of tinyMCE, but I guess
it's should be possible with input_file helper, see "Using the Media
Library input_file helper"

because the sfAssetsLibraryPlugin has this helper you requested.
But I'm somewhat confused about the differences between the plugins,
so maybe I'm missing something.

it is already in my system and works fine with tinyMCE.
I just want to use it outside tinyMCE.
