Hi! You do not to be confused. I would reccomend you to use sf 1.3. The difference between 1.3 and 1.4 is that the 1.4 has deprecated a lot of stuff that it was available since sf 1.0, but now do not exist anymore. If you are new to symfony i would reccomend to use sf 1.4 and wait from plugins
