I was about to close this as old and irrelevant, when I noticed that the character I used in issue 2637 is not being used in our square roots. Therefore, we have

when we could have

  ___
╲╱ x

Paste these into your terminal to see the difference. Or I may upload an image like the other commenters on this issue did to show you what it looks like in mine. Basically, the old version has a little space between the diagonal line and the horizontal one, whereas the new one does not, because it uses a special unicode character that is all the way at the bottom of the screen. It also appears more together (the first one has little gaps in the horizontal line, whereas the second one does not).

How does this look on other people's machines?
