I agree with that if we're talking about point-of-use: e.g., on display of the toolbar, go grab icons, just as we do for synced tabs. I think the scope and potential performance impact is much greater if we're talking about bulk-downloading icons for all of a user's synced bookmarks — potentially thousands — and I'd suggest revisiting that conversation in that case.
