It is done now[1], the old panels name (params, groups, children) in
settings file saved by _old_ version of Synfig Studio are now mapped to new
ones(parameters, sets, library), hence the upgrade users' GUI is not messy
up.

I agree to disable (not remove) SF tracker as soon as possible when the
announcement has been public in the social networks (website, g+ facebook,
etc.)
It just receives spam lately.
