Summary: Synfig gives nothing on Mac OS 10.3.9

Initial Comment:
I downloaded the installer packages for Mac OS (both 0.61.04 and
0.61.01 and a mix of the .01 libs and .04 others) and when I install I
see it will take me 0 MB... interesting.

After installing (which seems to work and also takes some time), I see
'Synfig Studio' in my Applications folder, with a size of 240 kB.

When I click it, my menubar changes and I see an X-cursor (probably X
starting). When I move my mouse, after a few seconds, it just quits. No
windows seen, nothing.

Am I doing something wrong?

Closing because we no longer provide a MacOS binary. We need a maintainer
and builder for MacOS BTW.

oh actually, I may have downloaded my libXinerama.dylib file
separately when trying to solve this issue months ago.

I managed to fix this yesterday:

open finder -> click Go -> Go to folder... -> type in
"/usr/X11R6" (without quote marks) -> right click on the
"lib" folder and click "get info" -> under the "ownership
and permissions" tab click "details" -> click the lock to
unlock the folder and make yourself as the owner (you have
to put in the username and password of an administrator) ->
go into the "lib" folder -> copy "libXinerama.1.0.dylib" and
paste it it the same folder -> and rename the copy
"libXinerama.1.dylib" -> now open Synfig

I believe this is the same problem I am having. I'm also
running MacOS 10.3, and when I run Synfig, I get a menu for
a little bit, then it goes away.

When I start the program from the commmand line
(/usr/local/bin/synfigstudio), I get the following error
message:
Guidoputer:/Applications/Synfig Studio.app/Contents/MacOS
ghutchis$ /usr/local/bin/synfigstudio
dyld: /usr/local/bin/synfigstudio can't open library:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXinerama.1.dylib (No such file or
directory, errno = 2)
Trace/BPT trap

Apparently it's missing Xcinererama; is this normally
present in later versions of MacOS?
