The rumors have been swirling for weeks, but it's been confirmed that Alan
Webb has signed a lucrative contract with Nike. Dick Patrick has the
exclusive story in today's edition of USA Today.

I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen any pre-meet publicity for the USA-GB-Russia meet
to be held in Glasgow this Sunday. Sure, Zürich is the biggee this weekend, but
Sunday's meet includes some good match-ups:
100: Chambers v. Bernard Williams and Jon Drummond.
110H: Jackson v. Johnson

His Nike contract is for six years, taking him through the 2008 Olympics.
Although Webb, Nike and agent Ray Flynn declined to provide terms, the deal
is believed to include a $250,000 annual salary plus incentives, college
costs and a $25,000 salary for Raczko.

800 is not exactly Monique's favorite event. She seems to run one a year. I
guess that she wanted to be in the 400, but had to settle for the 800.
