spectacular team of coaches at the inaugura

While this is noit a track and field story, I heard it at a meet
today and it is toog good not to share
As your probably know, track and field is only the second oldest
intercollegiate sport in the U.S. The pioneer role belongs to rowing and it,
in fact, at a rowing meet

MOSCOW (AP) -- Valery Brumel, an Olympic champion and world record holder in the high
jump for the Soviet Union, died Sunday at 60.
Brumel died at a Moscow hospital after a protracted illness, the ITAR-Tass news agency
said.

Olga Vasdeki jumped 14, 01 m. in her first attempt after two years of
injuries and Christoforos Choidis came back with 6" 65. in 60 m., during the
meetings held yesterday in Greece.
