World 100 metres champion Maurice Greene has pulled out of the Edmonton
world championships after injuring his left leg during Sunday's final.

Greene sustained the injury in the final metres but still clocked 9.82
seconds, the third-fastest time in history.

After the race Greene said he would not defend his 200 title and today his
coach John Smith said he would not run in the 4x100 metres relay either.

"He strained his left quad (thigh) and will not be running the rest of the
meeting," Smith told Reuters. "The rest of the season is up in the air."

Greene was scheduled to meet team mate and world silver medallist Tim
Montgomery at the Zurich Golden League meeting on August 17th.
