After reading (and lurking) these past 2 weeks of Olympic posts and
Mantis1's off list call out. I've concluded that this beats any soap opera
for laughs. Maybe we should change the name to "General Stadium" or "All My
Events", perhaps "As The Shot Put Turns" (too close to a drug reference?).
Better yet maybe we could be a "topic" on the Jerry Springer Show.
I know, what does this have to do with "elite track and field"? But then
what has most of what's been posted of late have to do with elite T&F.
Where's Fanelli's P.O.W.'s when we need it? Where Have You Gone, Mike
Fanelli? A tired listserver turns it's computer screens to you. Apologies to
Paul Simon, Joe DiMaggio and anyone that feels offended. To any non-American
members of the list unfamiliar with the American cultural icons referenced,
please excuse my momentary lapse of reason. I'll go back to lurking now and
leave the humor to the pros.
