Grote & Sam, Geez a little touchy here? Why not deal with this on list or off, there is no need to bring the whole gang along, or is there? Basically your comments towards the event are mean spirited without cause. You make comments about the event and its practitioners in such a way to denigrate their athletic talent and hard work. Your dislike of the event is irrational, and hence, so are your comments regarding it. Maybe assuming you hate the event was overkill, but what else is someone to gather from your comments? Every sport (or event within it) is contrived by its very nature, that is why they all have rules. Special note to Sam - Powerwalking is an activity, not a sport (no rules involved). We agree here. But the topic is Race Walking (2 rules here), and there is a big difference between the two. BTW, the Race Walk is not a sport but an event within the sport of Athletics aka Track & Field. I'll try to stay off the TV coverage as there is no one left on the list to say why the Networks cover stuff since D W I G H T left. If he were here you'd get an ear full.
