[Tagging] Limited use telephone

2024-05-24 Thread Timothy Noname
There is a node 6397545656 marked as amenity telephone but it's a service only for cyclists to contact the shuttle bus that takes them through the Dartford crossing. I think amenity=telephone should be reserved for general use telephones where you can call any number. I personally think it's

Hi, I'm looking at creating/documenting/proposing tags for public access AEDs Automatic external defibrillators. These things seem to be everywhere now. I want to document things like whether it's in a cabinet or not, colour of cabinet, access method to cabinet (no lock, key, keycode via

[Tagging] Bicycle rental docking station

2023-09-07 Thread Timothy Noname
For amenity=bicycle_rental there is some ambiguity regarding docking stations vs drop off points bicycle_rental=docking_station Vs bicycle_rental=dropoff_point The wiki and SC quest imply that the difference between A docking station and a drop off point for bike schemes is whether the stand

I've always thought actual measurements should be added to an individual node and the minimum width should be on the way, splitting the way at significant changes. On Tue, 15 Aug 2023, 19:21 Volker Schmidt, wrote: > Two points. > > (1) Do not redefine width as medium width. > > (2) Do not

I think locals will know when a village has no mobile phone coverage at all and I think it's suitable to be mapped as long as it's made sufficiently clear that it's not the sort of thing you map whilst just passing through. Incidentally, There are tags in OSM for measuring traffic on roads. On

It is imprecise, pitched just means sloped. Probably a tagging error by someone who doesn't know the correct tags like skillion and gabled. On Thu, 20 Apr 2023, 21:04 Marc_marc, wrote: > Hello, > > is roof:shape=pitched an imprecise value ? > I'm not a english naative but for me it could be : >

I think either is acceptable. For simple situations when the way represents the whole staircase adding the tag to the way seems sensible. If the stairs are made of multiple ways, then tagging the nodes is the only accurate solution. On Thu, 23 Feb 2023, 11:54 Matija Nalis, <
