Dear all, thank you very much for your feed-backs. The main discussion was on "apartments" or "apartment". The majority agreed with me that "apartment" is the better choice, meaning "one or more holiday apartments available for rent in this building". The number of apartments present in the building can be specified with the tag "number", default being 1.
So therefore I opened the proposal https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/apartment for voting.
