I've never had a problem getting networking to run on Linux. In fact, I
find it's better than Win

I have a RPi Model B running current Raspian, and a wifi dongle that claims
to run on it.
`lsusb` reports it as
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 148f:7601 Ralin
