Hi Don,
As with so many things in life, it depends. Microsoft will say that Office 2003
is no longer secure because they aren’t producing updates for it, some of which
might be developed to plug security holes. However, if you are a light user of
the product and don’t rely on features which “re
Hello,
Have you resolved your screen orientation issue?
With some video cards a set of key combinations will change the screen
orientation. On my Lenovo laptop, the key combinations of ctrl-alt followed by
an arrow key will change the screen orientation. Ctrl-alt-left-arrow flips from

Mike,
I would check to make sure the video “driver” to support Window Eyes is
correctly installed.

Dave,
Thank you for your thoughtful email.
As you will see from my signature I have moved much of my personal computing to
the Apple platform. However, for my job I still use Windows and several of the
screen readers/magnifiers on that platform.
The evolution of computing for individuals cont
A major issue for multiple interfaces for the same software package in addition
to the initial development time is the cost of additional support. If a bug is
found, or a new feature is desired, the company potentially have to make two

I think the suggestion to use the laptop’s “FN” key is on the right track.
There is a way to swap the functions so that to use the function keys directly
without the need to press “FN” with them. If you have a customer support number
for Lenovo you might give them a call and get help with this.
Hi,
What software do you use to extract the NLS zip files? Do you use the native
“unzip” software in Windows 7, or a third party application like 7-Zip to do
this? What happens when you right-click on the talking book icon on your
desktop? Does some kind of “unzip” option appear in the menu tha
Thank you for the thoughtful post.
Microsoft has ramped up their staffing to improve accessibility of the Office
products. They also promise to deliver an accessible version of the Edge
browser later this year. I suspect that is one of the reasons they will allow
vision-impaired Windows users t
Hi,
It looks like the menus are now a graphical representation of text, rather than
text within a PDF document. This is a common practice of businesses, they think
it saves time and money to just photocopy or photograph a printed menu and put
the image on their website. They will either have to
Hi,
You should consider installing the iCloud app for windows. It is not entirely

Hi,
GWX Control Panel only suppresses Windows 10 update messages and the update
itself. It does not effect other Window updates and their associated messages.

Dave,
For me I think it depends on when you ask. Some days I feel access to software
is better than ever. Then I find something that doesn’t work and I feel as
you do.
Thinking more deeply, the issue is that software and devices that employ it are
far more pervasive than ten or fifteen ye
Hello,
Did GW Micro or Ai Squared charge for the service?
Thank you.

You may be happier if you change the setting on your Lenovo ThinkPad and to not
use the function keys for the Lenovo hardware settings.
