Hi! Yes, the way of the future is all your privacy is lost. Everyone is spying on everyone.
My Breaking News keeps the spying away until you go to the web site. So, Breaking News 3.1 is now posted and has several changes in it. You now have 7 items to enter on the alert for your web page. Added are the Block check box and the End Block search phrase, to mark the end of the block you want read. Note: If you do not check the check box, or the first phrase is not found, the End block phrase will be your second search phrase. So, now you have 3 searches done, the first phrase, then the end block phrase, and a search for the Heading 1 font search. I have added a menu for the downloaded web page text read for handy hotkey functions. A File, Edit, View, and Help menu is added. The file menu also has a download for downloading and saving files. The view menu has the 3 options for viewing a web page, text, link, and go to the page. The edit features are Find phrase, Reverse search, and go to a line number. The help menu is the simple standard help. In the future I will make all dialog menus have the same features but the edit menu which are obviously different when using an edit box. I will change the help menu in the future to list the hotkeys and an explanation of each, along with them being functional. So, it is now ready for download. I'll be sticking to windows7 as long as possible. -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+dennisl1982=gmail....@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of net bat via Talk Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2015 12:41 AM To: dlh...@centurylink.net; Window-Eyes Discussion List <talk@lists.window-eyes.com> Subject: Re: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy? one thing everyone should do when they install windows 10 is do not use the quick setup. use custom. then you will see 13 pages of privacy options you can opt out of. if you use the quick setup all of these options will be turned on by default. i got this from the leo leport web page. -----Original Message----- From: via Talk Sent: Saturday, August 01, 2015 11:03 AM To: gosselin_louis ; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: windows 10 are you willing to give up your privacy? Windows 10 and the new Browser supposedly gives Microsoft much more feed back as to how you use the computer, where you go on the web, what you do when you are there, and what you buy. I imagine anything written in MS Office, whether it be a Spread Sheet, or a Document, is probably available to those who wish to view the contents of these files. If you own a Small business, you might wish to keep some things of your business privet. do you really want a flood of Bankruptcy lawyers sending you their Electronic Business Cards, letting you know, their Services are available? All because someone was able to peek at your Quick Book files? or maybe you were stupid enough to buy some Sex Toy On Line, and now an ad pops up when your best friend, who is a bad Gossiper, is borrowing your lap top to do some work of his own. Or maybe your friend writes a fiery letter off to a Politician, but because it was written on your machine, those watchers think you are the one who wrote the nasty letter, and not your friend. We are edging more and more into a culture where everyone has to be careful about what they say, and to who you say it. Even though some much is said about being Tolerant, I find today there is less and less tolerance. when using your computer, always, and I do mean, always have the understanding, that nothing on it, and anything you do on it, could be seen by someone else. big Brother is watching, and has been watching, and probably lots of Little Brothers too. If you want real privacy, but still want to use the computer, guess you will need to have two systems. One that is hooked up to the internet, and another that is not, and never will be. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
