Hi Vic,
Although it's a bother, you can always press F2, the Windows hot key for
renaming a file in the file explorer, in order to turn the file name into an
edit box, allowing you to read the file name using normal text-editing
keyes.
You just have to remember to press Escape to exit the renaming
