It seems like there are many similar initiatives in Brazil. For some
reason the words of OSM havn't been spread enough, and many
similar-but-not-the-same projects have popped up.
Often when entering contact with such "competing" projects, they
either havn't heard about OSM, or thought OSM as "just

Many of the coastlines in OSM came from an import of the PGS coastline
data. It was a fantastic benefit to be able to add this coastline
data to OSM, and we're better off having had it. And there are many
places that have aerial imagery that is now good enough to improve on
PGS coastlines. So th

Hi,
I have always tried to avoid using relations (never really accepted that is
better than adding route= tags to ways, and they seem to complicate things
quite a lot), but I am trying to tidy up some long distance footpaths
that have been done as relations.
The concept of relations is fine, b
Does anyone have any experience interleaving GPS traces with video?
Some friends of mine are asking about it in relation to skiing and
motor-racing, but one could also imagine it being of use to mappers. Ideally

The purpose of dev is a little different, people test new tools there
and do that often by adding nonsensical data or deleti
But actually we already have a Dev.osm server API that people use for
samples, this maybe could be called OpenImportMap.org?
and a WMS can be created in the same way that mapnik is, and it could
be traced over by the community on the main OSM API.

Im still working on my 'bulk_implopping' essay. :-)
But in the mean time, i like that idea. And can we take that a step
further and make a WMS tile server feed from this data?
All of the CanVec data from natural Resources Canada will be available
as .osm files AND its already available as a WMS l
As you've probably heard the Ordnance Survey is going to open some data next
week. We don't exactly know what data or what license it will be under but
there's a reasonable chance it won't be importable in to OSM because either the
data will be low scale or released with an incompatible license.
