Why not using the route relation[1] for this? You can combine all type of paths/roads with that relation, add the name, the ref (E-...), the network (Gran Recorrido GR, Pequeño Recorrido PR, Sendero local SL) and even a symbol for the route. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Relations/Routes
