how much additional disk space is approximately needed (compared to a
bg-map that includes one language rule)? Of course this value can only
be an approx. ratio. The absolute space depends on aoi, zoomlevels, ...

is it possible to use osmosis filtering changesets to fit my AOI before
applying it to my database?
I'm thinking of something like:
osmosis --read-xml-change file=changesets-090624.osm --apply-change
--write-xml-change file=mychangeset.osm
Or in general: what's the best way to keep my OSM databas
