Hi. I think there is something like that, just don't remenber the name. It was a picture of the week once. YES, maposmatic. see wiki. but it is more something like a city plan. On the other hand mapgen.pl covers some of the tasks which might prove helpful in an embracing script. it produces maps

It has always been my intention to make townguide do what you want. There is the basic code in it to make a book format output but it does not work properly. I am working on a new release of townguide building on Waldemar's excellent Google Summer of Code project. I can fix the booklet

Alas Townguide and Maposmatic were developed in parallel. They announced maposmatic just as I was finishing off the first version of townguide. I do think it would be worth merging the projects at some point because they are so similar. Could keep have an option for which back end to use to
